We wanted to share a quick update about dangerous driving in your area. Please be assured we’re working to keep everyone safe. Operation FOCUS tackles illegal e-bikes, mopeds and associated offences in Woolwich
Although Woolwich Town Centre sits outside our local ward area, crime and anti-social behaviour do not respect boundaries. Activity such as this has a positive impact across the wider Royal Borough of Greenwich and sends a clear message that offending on our roads and estates will not be tolerated.
On 17 September 2026 and 29 October 2026, Officers coordinated two days of proactive enforcement as part of Operation FOCUS in Woolwich Town Centre.
Working alongside officers from Royal Greenwich Safer Neighbourhood Teams, Woolwich Town Centre Teams, Special Constabulary, the Home Office, Royal Borough of Greenwich Council and Vehicle Recovery & Evidential Service, the operation targeted illegal and dangerous use of two-wheeled vehicles, immigration offences and wider criminality linked to e-bikes and mopeds.
As well as enforcement, partners from the Council engaged with road users and members of the public, distributing high-visibility safety items and QR codes linking to road safety advice and funded training opportunities aimed at improving safety across the borough.

If someone is driving a motor vehicle, they should always be doing so in a safe and considerate manner. Even momentary lapses in judgement can have life changing or devastating consequences for those in the vehicle or innocent bystanders. Activities such as street racing, cruising or performing tricks can count as anti-social behaviour. If you are concerned about this in your area, visit our website for the latest guidance. You can report dangerous driving online here. We want your help to shape the future of policing across London. We are seeking your views on our new inclusion strategy to ensure that the Met is a police service that is trusted, representative and more effective at keeping London safe. You can have your say on our Inclusion Strategy consultation which runs until Thursday 26 November. |
